Introduction:
I am a licensed Realtor with a broker Simply Vegas. I chose this brokerage because of the environment and the people that work in the office. Even though all Realtors are 1099 contractors (in other words we run our businesses) everyone has the willingness to work with each other.
I bought my first house when I was 21 for $140,000. Couple of years later I decided to sell it because I wanted a newer home with a pool. So I sold that home for $195,000. and bought a new house with a huge lot with no pool but big enough to build a pool for $250,000 (look out for my other blogs on why I didn’t build a pool). After the sale of my first home I netted about $50,000. At that moment I told my self I wanted to get into real estate. Everyone looks for that get rich quick scheme (isn’t that what every american wants?? lol) but thats what it felt like how real estate is. I just didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do with real estate or where to start. It took me a while to figure it out, I thought about doing flips but all I knew at that time was you needed was the full amount of cash to purchase plus the cash to renovate the property. Then I thought about wholesaling house but still didn’t know where to start.
So around the age of 25 I started classes to get my License to sell real estate. I thought about it, I worked for a cellular company Sprint for about 5 years and became a manager to help run the store and with customer relations. So I had the sales and customer service aspect of the business and I know I wanted to start my own business but what??
So by the age of 26 I finally decided to complete the school for real estate and get my License. After I got with the brokerage I am with now, I figured out that this is the business I wanted to be in. I first started doing this for the money (because it is very lucrative lol) but after helping the first couple of families and seen their joy of their very first home, it was more of a fulfillment and the money was the plus side of things.
Helping people purchase their first, second, third, and so on is fun for me. The negotiating with the other party involved is a challenge for me, and I love that! I’m very competitive person, I’ve played sports when I was younger and I was that kid that always wanted to win and did everything in my power to win, ethically that is lol So I do get emotionally involved with every transactions because I always want whats best for my clients. The way I see it is if I’m ever purchasing or selling something that means a lot to me and the value is huge I’d want the best person for the job and not want someone to just see me as a dollar sign or just another client. I’d want them on my team and be in contact with me and game plan with me, that way I know all of the step or hurdles we have to go through to make this work. I once had a manager that told me “just try, if someone sees that you try and you can’t make it happen then you at least tried. That shows. That goes further than just saying no.” So when I have clients I don’t tell anyone no, I will get options to figure something out. Those are all the thing I do for my clients no matter how big or small the job is, I want to win.
Helping my clients that want to sell I try my best to get to your net goal. I also help clients sell their property and purchase a new property simultaneous. Something happens to me once I list a clients home. I will do what I can to sell their house. I use my sphere of influence to network and offer my team to do open houses, depending on the market.
This is my business and I control every aspect of the business. I’ve had to do so many thing for my clients to get them their houses. In this business you have to be so creative in making things work for your clients. At the end of the day if the client is happy because of the work you’ve done for them they’re willing to refer to friends and family members. Thats the best thing about small business.
